About the Department

The Coralville Fire Department provides fire, medical, hazardous materials, and water rescue services for Coralville, East Lucas Township, and the University of Iowa Research Park.

The department is staffed with:
  • Over 40 volunteer firefighters
  • 5 paid members
The department averages:
  • 74,810 hours each year of on-duty volunteer staffing
  • 13.7 firefighters responding to each structure fire
The department also provides proactive prevention services such as site plan reviews and fire safety education, as well as local community projects, station tours, and the adopt-a-hydrant program.

ISO Rating

The Coralville Fire Department is ISO Class 2 rated, and is in the top 3% of all fire departments in the nation with a Class 2 rating or better. Learn more about our ISO rating.

Fire Stations & Training Facility

The Coralville Fire Department has two fire stations

In addition, Coralville's Fire Rescue Training Facility is a regional fire training center for fire departments, public emergency organizations, law enforcement, and private industry.
